Learning and development projects

Most organisations know they need to invest in their people.
The harder question is knowing where to start and having the capacity to follow through.

Matt acts as your outsourced L&D partner: diagnosing what's actually needed, designing practical solutions, and delivering results without adding to your permanent headcount.

Where organisations typically start

This service is designed for growing organisations. Typically you have between 30 and 200 people. Learning and development matters but a full-time L&D hire isn't yet the right move. You get senior expertise, focused attention, and no overhead.

Every L&D journey looks different. Wherever you are, Matt can develop practical solutions that help you move forward (and ease your project backlog).

How Matt’s project leadership works

Every project starts with a one-hour diagnostic conversation: free, no obligation. Matt will ask the right questions to understand what's actually going on, what's been tried before, and what success would genuinely look like.

From there, he'll propose a scoped approach with a clear deliverable and a fixed price. No retainers, no scope creep, no surprises.

I have worked with Matt for the past year on L&D needs for our organisation (a team of 45) and participated in a number of sessions facilitated by him. Matt has repeatedly demonstrated an exceptional ability to quickly grasp the underlying development needs for our team. He has helped me to navigate some complex and inter-related topics so that I come out of conversations with him with a clear path forward and sessions or other solutions that will deliver the right outcomes.  Matt has an authentic, engaging and practical facilitation style and a knack for cutting through the noise to ask the right questions. I've really valued his input as a thought partner in how we develop and structure the L&D offering for our organisation.

These are the situations Matt most often walks into.

Starting out

‘We have limited capacity and we’re not sure where to start with L&D’

Matt helps anchor your learning strategy to your business goals. He helps you identify the specific skills needed to execute your plans, and build a learning offer that pulls in the same direction as the company.

Building core elements…

‘We’re growing fast and we need to improve onboarding for new joiners’

Onboarding shouldn’t be a spectator sport. Matt creates experiences that immerse new staff in your culture from day one. They build the right relationships, grasp the real goals, and hit their stride faster.

Expanding our offer…

‘We need to improve core technical skills across the business’

Your experts know the technical details, but can they teach them? Matt translates complex know-how into workshops and communities that actually stick. This takes the expertise locked in a few heads and spreads it across the whole company.

Evolving…

‘We need to retain and recycle critical knowledge throughout the business’

Matt designs processes that help your teams learn faster, repeat what works, and stay resilient when key people move on, so institutional knowledge becomes a structural asset rather than a personal one.

Let’s talk.

If you're not sure whether this is the right service, that's a normal starting point. Most of Matt's best projects began with an organisation that knew something needed to change but wasn't yet sure what.
